Wapo asked its disproportionately (17-5) female panel who “performed” better in the Vance-Walz debate, and Vance won 14-8. I didn’t read how the women articulated their beliefs, but at some level I think there’s something primitive at work when you see the two men together — as a woman, you would have to overcome every primal instinct you have in order to approve of Walz. Vance on the other hand “performed” like that guy every girl had a crush on in eighth grade. This is just basic biology, and it can’t be changed no matter how hard they try. One of the first things I did when Walz was announced as Harris’s vp pick was go to YouTube and search out videos of Dennis Hastert talking, to see if Walz and Hastert had the same vibe. Imo they do. I’m not necessarily saying Walz has molested children, but I wouldn’t be surprised. I’m mostly just saying the vibe is creepy as hell. I think Hastert was elevated specifically because he was so easy to blackmail — except for that, there is nothing at all exceptional about him. I also think Walz was chosen specifically because there’s nothing at all exceptional about him except whatever secrets he may be hiding.

Was thinking about doing a quick followup on Hastert. Already caught some flak from a whataboutist who I knew. Maybe a "teachable moment" not only about physiognomy and culture-hacking, but about the apolitical nature of the Blob's selection process.

That's a great idea, the Blob is the enemy!

Put it this way, if Walz was indicted for child molestation in the future, would you be shocked and surprised? I certainly wouldn’t.

Exactly.
